Last night my best friend, Kira, gave birth to her little girl, Gracen Marie, at 10:18 PM, she came a little over a month prematurely, over night the baby developed complications and had to be placed on a ventilator, by early morning Gracie's little heart began to give out and at 9:15 this morning Gracen Marie lost her valiant battle to live in her daddy's arms. RIP baby girl, you were in our lives for such a short time but somehow managed to leave us all heart broken: I always did say you were gonna be a heart breaker.

An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth and whispered as she closed the book "Too beautiful for earth."

Russian Kids vs. American Kids

This is an email that I received, it's funny how true this is. All the Russians/Ukrainians know what I mean.



American kids: Move out when they're 18 with the full support of their parents.
Russian kids: Move out when they're 28, having saved enough money for a house, and are two weeks away from getting married.....unless there's room in the basement for the newlyweds.

American kids: When their Mom visits them, she brings a Bunt cake, and you sip coffee and chat.
Russian kids: When their Mom visits them, she brings 3 days worth of food, begins to tidy up, dust, do the laundry, and rearrange the furniture.

American kids: Their dads always call before they come over to visit them, and it's usually only on special occasions.
Russian kids: Are not at all fazed when their dads show up, unannounced, on a Saturday morning at 8:00, and starts pruning the fruit trees. If there are no fruit trees, he'll plant some.

American kids: Always pay retail, and look in the Yellow Pages when they need to have something done.
Russian kids: Call their dad or uncle, and ask for another dad's or uncle's phone number to get it done.

American kids: Will come over for cake and coffee, and get only cake and coffee. No more.
Russian kids: Will come over for cake and coffee, and get Borsht, vodka, a salat olivye', a choice of two meats, salad, bread, a dish of babushkas desert, fruit, and a few after dinner drinks.

American kids: Will greet you with 'Hello' or 'Hi'.

Russian kids: Will give you a big hug, a kiss on your, and a pat on your back.

American kids: Call your parents Mr. and Mrs.
Russian kids:: Call your parents Mom and Dad.


American kids: Have never seen you cry.
Russian kids: Cry with you.

American kids: Will eat at your dinner table and leave.
Russian kids: Will spend hours there, talking, laughing, and just being together.

American kids: Know few things about you.
Russian kids: Could write a book with direct quotes from you.

American kids: Eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on soft mushy white bread.
Russian kids: Eat selotka and kartoshka with bread on the side. (potato
and fish)

American kids: Will leave you behind if that's what the crowd is doing
Russian kids: Will kick the whole crowds' ass who left you behind.

American kids:: Are for a while.

Weekend

So this weekend I went snowboarding with my friends and the cabin that we were staying in was supposed to be nice and have wifi and all that good stuff - well it wasn't nice and it had no wifi and non of the neighbors had wifi so it sucked because I had brought my laptop up with me so that I could work and there was no wifi whatsoever! I was able to do some work but most of it was on a server to which I could not connect so couldn't so it - yay for working longer hours the next week to catch up. But other than a crappy cabin and lack of technological connections the trip was good, we had fun and no one got hurt! I will get back to my quote project tonight and post quotes for the days that I missed.
